Cecilia O'Kane was born in Sion Mills, Northern Ireland on the 18th September 1925, the youngest child of Joseph and Ellen O'Kane. She lost her mother at the age of 10 and her father married again, which was a body blow to her after losing her mother at such a tender age. She turned to her oldest sister Mary Anne as a surraget mother figure, but disaster again struck when Mary Anne died at a very early age. She met a young American soldier named Benny Janetta at the age of 17 and they were engaged to be married when Benny lost his life in action in Belgium. It was shortly after this that she started to see a lot more of Charles James McNamee whom she had known for some time from her visits into the town of Omagh. They eventually married in Nottingham, England on the 29th March 1947. They ended up with 6 children Eddie, Charles, Bridget, Marie, Patricia and Mark and spent the rest of their lives, working and living in Clifton, Nottinghamshire. Her husband died on the 9th January 1992, but still she soldierd on until she eventually lost her battle for life on the 17th December 2009.
My Mother
by Edward Joseph McNamee
You left us on the 17th December 2009 and left a void that I know will never be filled. You were such a big part of all our lives and although we knew one day you would leave us, we were still not prepared for the heartache that leaving would bring. Your memory will be treasured for ever and nothing will deprive us of our own individual memories of our own dear mother.
...... 17th December 2010 - one year on from that fateful day - annus horibilis - I now understand what those two words signify. They say it gets easier with time. They say a lot of things whoever THEY are. I know what they don't know. The last few weeks have been like .. deja vu ... like going through it all again, but this time knowing the result. I'm sure it will get easier with time but the love will always remain. I love and miss you mum unconditionally.
We say a prayer together friends.
Even if you do not forward this, the Novena will work for you and your family
When you receive this, just pray a Hail Mary and ask for a special favor.... "Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.. Amen." (Ask for your favor)
I cannot predict when your petition will be answered, but I do know that our Mother Mary is always listening and ready to help us. Please do not break this novena. Remember Jesus can't say "No" to His Mum, our Mother too.. Send it to as many people if you believe they deserve love, peace, justice, health, prosperity, and well being - it will show you care.
